IMPRESSIVE BUILDINGS IN THE WORLD

I have been travelling a lot - professionally and privately ... got to know many countries, cities & cultures... always with the camera in hand... always with an eye for IMPRESSIVE BUILDINGS IN THE WORLD. For several years I have been painting these buildings... on the iPad with many different digital pens & brushes... in bright, cheerful colors.

Old Town Hall, Bamberg

,I only got to know and love Bamberg in 2016. The UNESCO World Heritage city — located on the Regnitz River and built on seven hills — has a very special flair with the picturesque alleys of the old town and the many historic buildings… Whether it’s the impressive Imperial Cathedral towering above Bamberg, Little Venice with its colorful, well-preserved former fishermen’s cottages, or the Old Town Hall with its colorful facade paintings, built on stilts in the Regnitz River: my absolute highlight when it is illuminated by the setting sun.‘

Taj Mahal in Agra, Indien

,Sunset at the Taj Mahal: a fascination that will never be forgotten! This fairytale-like architectural masterpiece was built of marble, completely decorated with gemstones and engravings, in the 17th century by a Mogul emperor in memory of his late wife. The mausoleum, one of the 7 wonders of the world and a world heritage site, is unique due to its impressive size, its elegant beauty, the perfect symmetry and the reflection in the water basin… and in the evening sun the white marble shines in different red shades: a lasting memory.‘

Lady Liberty & Freedom Tower in New York City, USA

,New York City: for me always incredibly fascinating, vibrant & inspiring! The world-famous Lady Liberty at sunrise in front of the illuminated Manhattan skyline and the glass Freedom Tower at Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers -where I often worked- were destroyed on 9/11: both symbols of their time, which have impressed me greatly.‘
